Julianne Stoughton, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Stoughton, from Boston, attended Dartmouth and Brown University Medical School, and completed her General Surgery Residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Rochester. She is Board Certified in both General and Vascular Surgery. She currently runs the Vein Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and works in her private VeinSolutions office as well.
Dr Stoughton has been speaker, moderator, or course director for many national meetings, including: the Harvard Vascular Surgery Venous Course, the American Venous Forum, American College of Phlebology, American College of Surgeons, the Society of Vascular Surgery, Eastern Vascular Surgical, Society of Vascular Ultrasonographers, New England Society of Vascular Surgery, the “In-Vein” meetings, and others.
In addition to writing several textbook chapters on venous disease, she has also written and published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals. She participates in the training of residents, fellows and attending physicians across the country.
She is currently an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. She currently sits on many committees, and has been elected to the Executive Boards of the American College of Phlebology, the American Venous Forum, and the New England Society of Vascular Surgery. She will be the Chair of the 2012 ACP Program! Planning Committee.

Nancy L. Cantelmo, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Cantelmo joined the VeinSolutions practice in the Boston area in 2003. She completed her undergraduate degree at Barnard College and medical education at New York Medical College. Boston University and University of Massachusetts Medical Center are the sites of her surgical residency and she completed her vascular fellowship at Boston University. She is certified and recertified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Cantelmo has clinical privileges Winchester Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston VA Medical Center. She is currently an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Cantelmo was the first woman surgeon in the New England Society of Vascular Surgeons and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society of Vascular Surgeons, a member of the American Venous Forum and the American College of Phlebology.

Judy Giordano, Medical Aesthetician
Ms. Giordano is a licensed aesthetician and graduate of Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics. She has been a leader in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years. She has worked with some of Boston’s leading Plastic Surgeons and consultant for many of the top wellness centers in the greater Boston area.
Trained and certified in Laser, IPL/Photofacials, Advanced Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion, she is a specialist with extensive experience in Age-Management Treatments.
Judy enjoys customizing skin care programs for her clients and educating them on combining good home care products with professional treatments.
Deborah A. Sanford, R.N., R.V.T.
Deborah is a registered Nurse and registered Vascular Technologist. She achieved this credential by passing the national registry exam given by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). The ARDMS promotes quality care and patient safety through the certification and continuing competency of ultrasound professionals. Deborah has been Technical Director of our Accredited Vascular Laboratory since 2002. She brings over 20 years of experience to our vascular practice and is now dedicated to venous diagnostic ultrasound.
Deborah is a member of the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, a national society dedicated to the advancement of noninvasive vascular technology used in the diagnosis of vascular disease through education programs, publications and certification. She is also a member of the local chapter of Greater Boston Vascular Technologist.
Our laboratory is accredited through the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICVAL). ICVAL provides a voluntary method of which vascular labs are held accountable to provide high quality care to their patients.
Robert H. Gilman MD DMD
Robert H. Gilman MD DMD is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hobart College, Geneva New York. He received both his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from Boston University. He did his residency training in General Surgery in the Boston University Affiliated Hospitals program. His residency in Head and Neck Surgery was in Boston University/Tufts University combined program. His residency in Plastic Surgery was done at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr Gilman is board certified in both Plastic Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. He is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and is an instructor in the Harvard Plastic Surgery Training program at MGH.
Dr Gilman is a member of multiple national and regional societies including The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, The Massachusetts Society of Plastic, The Reed 0 Dingman Plastic Surgical Society and The Double Boarded Society. Dr. Gilman is a team leader on humanitarian missions for “Healing The Children, Northeast” and “The Smile Train” repairing cleft lips and palates and other birth defects. Dr Gilman founded Plastic Surgery Specialist Inc in 1982. He has a particular interest in cosmetic and aesthetic surgery and has a broad experience in general plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr Mark Ballentyne
Dr Mark Ballentyne, a highly skilled physician who served as Family Practice Chief Resident in the final year of his residency at the University of Wisconsin, has practiced a broad range of medicine with a focus on Internal Medicine, for 15 years. He is board certified by the American Academy of Family Practice Physicians and has been Director of Medical Aesthetics at the Skin Wellness Center since 2003.
Dr. Ballentyne has established a strong reputation for his talent in performing the Lip Augmentation procedure and facial rejuvenation with Botox Cosmetic injections and dermal fillers. As a result of his exceptional technical skill, extensive experience and eye for superior results, Allergan, maker of some of the world’s most popular dermal fillers, has chosen him as a national trainer, demonstrating to other physicians various methods of cosmetic injection.
Desiring to offer his patients the latest and safest treatments, Dr Ballentyne regularly attends various academic conferences, where he meets with other doctors to explore and discuss advances and innovations in aesthetic medicine.
