Meet the Doctor
BLAIR D. VERMILION, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Vermilion completed his surgical residency at Indiana University in 1979. In 1980 Dr. Vermilion completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Saint Anthony Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Vermilion is board-certified by The American Board of General and Vascular Surgery. He is Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery (Department of Surgery) at The Ohio State University. He is a founding member of the Columbus Vascular Society and serves on numerous committees at The Ohio State University. His practice at VeinSolutions is restricted to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders.
William L. Smead M.D., F.A.C.S.
After obtaining his M.D. from Vanderbilt Medical College, Dr. Smead completed his residency at Massachussettes General Medical Center in Boston. He has been in practice at The Ohio State University Medical Center since 1978. Dr. Smead has served as past president of the Columbus Vascular Society and Columbus Surgical Society, Chief of Staff of The Ohio State Medical Center and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery for over twenty years. Dr. Smead is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and general vascular surgery.
